gender

how do they represent body image?
why do they do this?
explain how they do this audio and vision code?
what audience are they trying to appeal to?

bluestone 42

Bluestone 42 is a comedy drama based on an British bomb disposal unit.
the main audience for this would be young adult males aged between 17 to 24 as joining the army and becoming a solider is seen to be a male role. on the other hand the show creator counter this as the are to females in a main role on the cast . 'bird' is a female solider does the same task as what the males in the unit perform.
In a introduction to the program their is photo of the soldiers ,some of the photo tends to show the males showing off the muscle or working out but does not show the females in a sexualised manner.
in the episodes the females in the show perform the same dangerous task as the males do dressed in the same way which show that they are not sexualised objects.
there is a scenes in the show where the three males soldiers have long sleeve tops on while the females have a short sleeve top on roll up to her shoulders this is show. this contrasts to what the intro to the show.

case studies female

this Budweiser advert is s bowing a females as being part of a bottle whats shows us that she is just an object. this advert is aimed males as males are seen to drink beer while females tend to be seen to drink wine.the female within the advert is in very little clothing what invites the male audience in.as she is seen to be same as the bottle as an object. this shows us that men can just pick up women the same as picking up the product.

marge from the Simpsons is seen to be a domestic woman through out the Simpsons as she has never have a job what last more then the 20minutes episodes. while homer has work in the same place though out the series. as is seen to be the breed winner. marge is seen to cook sand clean and look after the baby though out the episodes. when the Simpsons started it made sense to have her as a stay at home mum a the time when it started females was seen to be a stay at home wife but now in the modern time both parents tend to work.what put females and males on equal grounds within the home.

within this music video the character is in typical female oriented jobs such as a waitress but instead of having a male try and hit on her she is doing the opposite to show that is is able to dominate the males what is post feminism as it show s she is better then the males.she also plays a super hero what is normally seen to be a male role this also show that she is better then males what is post feminism

Representation Question

For the representation question i need to explain and analyse my points better as i only briefly stated my points this is why i only got half the makes available ,if i analyse my points instead of just stating them i believe i could of got a higher mark.

  • examples explained in more detail
  • correct terminology
  • analyse my points more clearly

Revision And Study

I need to revise a lot more then what i did for the mock exams as i forgot a lot of the key terms what meant i couldn't get a higher mark as i didn't use the correct terminology. iIf i revised i believe i would remember the terms and this will allow me to get a higher mark.
